Who is Ricmae Design?.
Ricmae Design is the public name and professional identity of Wolf Richardson Myrtil. It is not a separate person or an independent company: it is his own personal brand, under which he carries out his creative and technology work.
His path moved gradually from music to visual creation, media, graphic design and digital technology. He built his skills through personal experience, training, collaborations and independent projects.
Origins and education.
Wolf Richardson Myrtil was born on January 25, 2002 in Port-de-Paix, in Haiti's Nord-Ouest department. He grew up there and developed his first passions for music, computers and art.
He attended primary school at École Notre-Dame de Fatima, in the Fatima Chalet neighborhood of Port-de-Paix, then spent seven years of secondary school at Lycée Tertullien Guilbaud, finishing in 2020 at age 18.
In June 2012 he enrolled at the Métronôme music school, taking lessons until March 2013. In February 2018 he trained in graphic design at Northwest Institute (NWI) with instructors Sylvestre Jacksen and Jean Fresnel Jean-Baptiste — a key step in making his design skills professional.
In 2020 he left Port-de-Paix to continue his studies in Cap-Haïtien. He studied agronomy at Université Anténor Firmin: he has completed his agronomy studies, but has not yet been awarded his licence degree.
Where the name Ricmae comes from.
In 2014, while exploring a memory card he had just bought, he found an album by the artist Stromae. He went on to watch many of Stromae's performances and music videos, and the artist became a major source of inspiration.
He then created his artist name: “Ric”, from his own first name Richard, and “Mae”, borrowed from Stromae. First an artistic identity, Ricmae gradually became his signature in creative and digital work.
That admiration also sparked his passion for graphic design. He wanted to make photo edits of himself on stage next to Stromae: he started with PicsArt on his phone, then discovered Adobe Photoshop.
Music and audio production.
Wolf Richardson Myrtil is also a musician. He began playing piano at age 11 and, after stopping lessons at the Métronôme school, kept improving through practice. From age 11 to 18 he played piano in a church in Port-de-Paix.
Once he had a laptop, he took his first steps as a DJ, exploring digital music and audio tools.
He then set up his own small recording studio, TEN SOUND STUDIO, where he recorded his songs and those of several artists around him, gaining hands-on experience in vocal and music recording, live sound, audio editing and beat making with Adobe Audition and Mixcraft.
There he recorded “NIKE”, a song released on Dynasty Haiti and considered a local hit in Port-de-Paix at the time; the original file has since been lost. Two of his songs, “Jou sa” and “Manje atis”, are published on Audiomack.
Photography, media and journalism.
In 2019, while in his NS4 year at Lycée Tertullien Guilbaud, he worked at Parallèle Média Groupe (PMG), a photography studio in Port-de-Paix, as a photo editor for on-location shoots: weddings, graduations, funerals and other events. Working alongside photographers and video editors, he learned about cameras and audiovisual production.
That same year, with a group of friends — including Beaubrun Olden Naïder, who proposed the idea — and after taking online journalism courses, he launched the show 10 Kesyon Show on October 25, 2019. The concept: ask artists from Port-de-Paix exactly ten questions about their journey and projects.
For about a year the team produced many interviews. The most-viewed was with the artist Zoegar Wata after the release of “Kongo Baya”. For the show's anniversary, ten artists — including Johnny Style, Loca Gyal, Don Kenken, E. Wayzi, Benly One, Don G and Queen D — each performed 24 bars on the same beat.
After the show's YouTube channel was hacked, it was put on hold and he set journalism aside to focus on graphic design and web design.
